Hassocks Sports Centre

This is a pretty straightforward sports centre with just one small hall, big enough for one pitch.  There’s somewhere to put bags, sit down and chill out whilst you wait for your next game.

Plenty of parking outside and not far from the train station.

Food at the venue

There are vending machines here but nothing more extravagant.  Water is freely available.

Travelling by car

Set your satnav/googlemaps to go to Dale Avenue in Hassocks. The sports centre is on the same site as Downlands Community School – use the main entrance for the school and continue in over the mini-roundabout, with the school building on your left.

If you put in the sports centre as your destination, it will take you round the back of the school, where there is no entrance and this will make you sad (the pin will pop up on Windmill Avenue or Parklands Road which is wrong).

Travelling by train

Hassocks is on the main line between London Victoria and Brighton, although ‘express’ trains don’t stop there.  The sports centre is a 10 minute walk from the station.

Again, if you’re using googlemaps to get there from the station, head for Dale Avenue, rather than searching for the sport centre itself. The pedestrian entrance is the same as the car entrance.
